Smoking Quiz

If you want advice about smoking, we’re here to help.

Take our quick quiz to understand how much you’re smoking and take the first steps towards quitting.

When you’ve answered the questions we’ll give you advice about smoking and what to do next.

Your stop smoking journey

When you join the service, you'll chat with a member of our specially trained team. They'll get to know you and find out what support you want with quitting.

The process is:

  • You will have an initial, 30-minute telephone assessment. If you prefer, you can arrange a face-to-face assessment in our Ancoats office.
  • Your advisor will set up follow-up calls every two weeks, for 12 weeks.
  • We deliver the nicotine replacement therapy (patches/gums), vapes and/or medication to you. You don't need to go anywhere to collect it!

You don't need a prescription or a GP appointment. Our specialist nursing team arranges everything.

Your dedicated stop smoking advisor

When you use the service, you’ll get your own advisor. They’ll get to know you and find out what support you'd like with quitting. You can chat with them via phone or video call, or book face-to-face appointments.

If you have a slip up, your advisor won't judge. Quitting may take a few attempts; all that matters is that you keep on trying.

Your advisor will talk to you about:

  • Why you're quitting. Knowing your 'why' and identifying your goals helps you stay focused.
  • Habits and cravings. We all have smoking routines, like having a cigarette first thing in the morning, with a cuppa, or with friends at the pub. This is when you'll be most tempted, so they'll help you come up with a plan for what to do.
  • Staying motivated. They will cheer you on and help you stay motivated when things are tough.

Set your quit date

Choosing your quit date with your advisor is an important step. This is the day you'll make the switch – saying goodbye to cigarettes and starting to use your stop smoking aids.

Having a clear quit date is crucial for success. It gives you something to work towards and helps prepare you mentally and practically for your smoke-free future.

Your quit date is more than just a date in the calendar – it’s the moment you take control of your health.
