In December, Change Grow Live’s Board of Trustees will gain two new members: Victoria Steele and Angelene Woodland.
Welcoming their announcement, our chair of the Board Sue Killen commented:
"I’m pleased to welcome Angelene and Victoria to our Board of Trustees. They’re joining us at an important moment for Change Grow Live. In recent years, we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of people make positive changes in their lives, and now we’re looking to the future with the upcoming launch of our ambitious five-year strategy, which will enable us to reach more people than ever before, and support them to make lasting changes in their lives.
Angelene and Victoria both share our belief in what people can achieve with the right support. Their experience and passion will strengthen our leadership and help us reach more people, in more communities, in the years ahead."

Victoria Steele
Victoria joins us with 25 years of experience in strategic governance, regulatory compliance, and crisis management. Having started out as a community pharmacist, Victoria has a deep knowledge of the needs of people who are struggling with substance use and understands that life can take many twists and turns – for anyone.
For more than a decade, Victoria worked at Lloyds Pharmacy, in a range of roles spanning clinical governance, professional standards and superintendent pharmacist. She was responsible for the safety of more than ten million patients and led the development of the award-winning SaferCare patient safety programme. More recently, she was appointed to the board of Hallo Healthcare Group, where she provided leadership on governance and on patient safety in NHS settings, mental health services and the prison service.
Over the course of her career, Victoria has gained extensive experience of navigating intricate regulatory frameworks, ensuring organisations meet all legal and ethical standards while maintaining a focus on patient safety. Her deep understanding of governance structures, risk management, and stakeholder engagement has enabled her to drive successful outcomes in challenging and highly regulated environments.
Victoria says, "I'm delighted to be joining the Board of Trustees at such an exciting time for Change Grow Live. I hope my combined frontline pharmacy experience and regulatory expertise support the charity and – most importantly – the people who access its services.
I believe every person's potential and future matter, and I look forward to many rewarding years with Change Grow Live."

Angelene Woodland
An accomplished leader and board executive, Angelene has over 25 years’ experience in growing organisations through effective brand, marketing, communications and public affairs strategies. She has an impressive track record of driving strategic change to improve outcomes for customers, drive commercial value, and of providing creative solutions within a complex organisational, regulatory and market context.
During her eight years at Bupa UK, Angelene defined and executed integrated marketing and communications strategies across all lines of business, launching a new brand platform and customer strategy to market, that resulted in strong commercial outcomes across both customer acquisition and retention metrics. Since April 2019, she has been the Chief Customer Officer at the British Business Bank, responsible for the Bank-wide brand and marketing strategy, internal and external communications, and public affairs.
While Angelene has worked across a wide variety of sectors, she has a passion for working for organisations that have a purpose and drive positive impacts for customers. She mentors female leaders and is an advocate for inclusive entrepreneurship.
Angelene says, "I am delighted to have been appointed as a Trustee for Change Grow Live at such a pivotal time in the organisation’s journey. I am very much looking forward to working with the Board, the Executive and the wider team, as they deliver against their ambitious five-year strategy. The vision statement for Change Grow Live is especially powerful: the concept that people are seen for their potential, not their problems.
This role offers the opportunity to bring together my professional experience and my personal values, to work with a wonderful charity, and to increase the awareness of the remarkable work that it delivers every day, to so many people who use its services across the UK."
